We live in a world,
That for some reason teaches us,
To keep our voices silent,
When instead, we should lift them up
We are so afraid of being wrong...
We live in a world,
That seems so out of reach,
So many people choose,
To not practice what they preach
How long must this go on...?
We...all...have...a voice...
And to use it should be our choice...!
Lift...your...voice...!
Raise it to the heavens,
And scream out your pain!
Lift...your...voice...!
If we all sing,
We can never be contained!
Lift...your...voice...
And every day,
Sing the same refrain...
We live,
(And we live)
And we live,
(And we live...)
(So sing the song again...)
We live in a world,
That offers second chances,
But so many ignore them,
Don't give them second glances
We are so afraid of falling out of line...
We live in a world,
Where so few have everything,
And so many have nothing,
Not even their dreams
How long...must this go on...?
We...all...have...a voice...
And to use it should be our choice...!
Lift...your...voice...!
Raise it to the heavens,
And scream out your pain!
Lift...your...voice...!
If we all sing,
We can never be contained!
Lift...your...voice...
And every day,
Sing the same refrain...
We live,
(And we live)
And we live,
(And we live...)
(So sing the song again...)
We live,
(And we live)
And we live,
(And we live...)
We live in fear!
So many live in tears...!
So many lives!
Wasted through the years...!
We live in pain,
And sorrow and shame,
And we only,
Have ourselves to blame...
(So sing...the...refrain...)
Lift...your...voice...!
Raise it to the heavens,
And scream out your pain!
Lift...your...voice...!
If we all sing,
We can never be contained!
Lift...your...voice...!
And every day!
Sing the same refrain!
Lift your voice higher,
Do it again and again...!
(We live)
(And we live)
(And we live)
(And we live...)
So sing the song again...

gypsy.
She was just twenty and only a girl,
sharp like a knife, only a woman who knew
the pen is not always mightier than a sword.
She brought her family with her
in every fold of her sunset skirt, her careworn hands
eager for a new world, the Roaring Twenties, even
the name called her, barefoot with a warrior's soul.
She held her sister's hand on a vast ship, tight,
and never glanced back. She sailed the seas on
her high cheekbones, dark-lashed eyes
that looked into mine years after the world
heaved like Pangaea, after the names of her people
had changed, she looked into my unfamiliar
green eyes
and saw herself.
